The Peace River Community Housing Partners (PORCH) story is simple, it is simply to do our part to ensure that our military Veterans have a home. Even one unhoused military family is too many. Florida veteran’s make up 8.5% of the state’s population. Among our state’s veteran population, 6.6% live in poverty and over twenty-four hundred (2,400) are homeless. We have made it our goal to make sure that our service men and women, and their families, have safe, affordable and sustainable homes where their families can live and prosper. Our military is the reason we are afforded the liberties granted to us each day as Americans, the least we can do is make sure that they have a home to come home to.
What is the 2022 Giving Challenge?
The 2022 Giving Challenge is an online giving day which connects nearly 700 nonprofit organizations with passionate donors and community members to support diverse causes and create enduring impact in Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte, and DeSoto counties.
Since 2012, the Giving Challenge has acted as a catalyst for connection and provided more than $59 million in unrestricted funding over seven challenges.
